Safety comes first, especially when reversing. In the past one interior mirror, two external mirrors and a practiced eye were the only thing you could rely on for reversing which can prove quite inadequate when reversing into a tight space or in murky wet conditions. With these new video systems, you can see everything at a glance. What is normally not visible, now appears clearly on a screen.

Merseyside Ambulance Service's new vehicles are the only vehicles in the country to switch from Navigation to reverse camera automatically when reverse gear selected and then also be able to at any time switch to the interior view when the intercom is in use.
